went back to primary school to see mrs tan. the building- the school- is so different, everything is so new... and strange, so unfamilar. somehow the same, yet not exactly.
i was thinking there's not really a lot of point (not exactly no point) in going back because while it's nice to see the teachers and stuff, i feel that i dont really have things to say, perhaps just wasting time there. maybe it's better to dwell in memories, keep your past impressions and feelings intact where no one can touch, unchanged by time and whatever external changes that may happen to the school, kept safe somewhere in the recesses of my mind. i can recall with wistfulness the happy days of carefree primary school life, the silly things we did, the old and familar school building.
now we may have changed; the school, the people all may have changed but the impression, the precious memories will remain. untouched. protected. albeit like fading yellow photographs, nevertheless treasured for its immeasurable value in shaping and moulding us while we were young. getting sentimental, aint i?
